The southern part of Oak Park is home to Southtown. This large neighborhood is home to the town’s only dog park. The Maple Park Dog Park is a separate off-leash area protected by fencing. Bring plenty of waste bags, water, and snacks for this trip; your dog won’t want to leave! Your pal can explore the length of this 12,000 square foot area while you relax on one of its many benches. There is even a special water fountain for canines! After you leave the dog park, you can head over to Salerno’s for a pizza joint that welcomes dog lovers as much as they welcome their pizza lovers!

Middle East Oak Park

Middle East Oak Park

Middle East Oak Park is the central hub of the city. This neighborhood has three parks to choose from if your dog is feeling restless and needs some extra time outside. If you like smaller green spaces, grab your leash and some waste bags and head over to the Austin Park, or the Austin Hall Park right across the street. If a large, open area is what you and your dog are looking for, head south on Austin until you come to Columbus Park. You may want to grab some towels since this park has its own lake.
