Scales Lake
Located in the center of town, the Scales Lake Park is a great place to spend a day with Fido and the family. The lake is perfect for fishing, or you can hike along the nature trails with your pup on a leash. There are 66-acres of land with a quiet campground and a petting zoo. When strolling around the park, you can admire a variety of plants, and your pup will have a snifftastic time with trees and flowers along the way. You will need to bring your own doggie waste bags, but there are convenient trash receptacles located throughout the park.

Jacobsville
About 15 miles southwest of Boonville, your pooch will love spending time at the Central Bark Park at Kleymeyer in the town of Evansville. You will need to purchase a membership and receive an access code for the park, but your pup will appreciate the time and effort! The park features agility equipment to keep your pooch in shape, and three fenced areas where Fido can run around and play. Pup parents can relax on one of the benches while their pooch sniffs the trees and socializes with other pups. The park also offers doggie waste bags to make sure the park stays clean, and there are lights for some fun in the evening before bedtime. After playing at the park, head over to Talk of the Town where you can order a burger and relax at the outdoor seating with your furry friend.

Audubon State Park
The John James Audubon State Park is located about 25 miles southwest of Boonville in the town of Henderdson, and features hiking trails where you can Fido can get some exercise. Stroll through the park and enjoy the flowers and gardens, or hike along the nature path and watch for a variety of wildlife You will need to keep your pup on a leash. The Community Bark Park is another popular destination for your pooch. It is close to the highway and offers two separate areas where dogs can run around and play. If you need a pooch-friendly place to eat, Mister B’s restaurant offers sandwiches, pizza, and burgers, and you can relax with Fido at the outdoor tables.

Christmas Lake Village
In the Christmas Lake Village neighborhood, about 30 minutes east of Boonville in the town of Santa Claus, the Lake Rudolph Campground is a great place to spend time with your pup and the family. You can pitch a tent or bring your RV and enjoy some fun with the kids. Fido will love walking around the lake sniffing the grass, and the kids can go fishing or take advantage of the Putt Putt golf.
