It is an hour's drive to Rockport -- it seems like a long way to go, but the Holiday Drive-In is worth every single mile! Bring your dog, on a leash, and catch all the latest movies at this retro drive-in. There's a concession stand here with all your favorite movie snacks. Leave your debit cards at home, because this is a cash-only establishment. There are rules for patrons with pets, but they are simple. Clean up after your pup. Make sure your pooch can handle the large crowd and loud noises. If he misbehaves, you may be asked to leave.

City Center

There are some days that you just need a good old-fashioned dog park. You'll be hard-pressed to find one very close to Monroe City, though. Treat your pup and drive the hour to Huntingburg, because their dog park has gone to the dogs! Stop by City Hall and register so that you can get the code. They do have a day pass for visitors, or you can get the yearly pass. You will have everything you need here, including a clean water station and doggie waste bags, so all you have to bring is plenty of energy to play!

Lake Rudolph

How fun is it that Lake Rudolph is located in Santa Claus? Before you drive an hour out here, you should know that Lake Rudolph RV Park is just the beginning of the seasonal fun on offer here. In the summer, there's a water park. In the fall, you can enjoy some autumn-themed fun, including Halloween Weekends. The winter is all about celebrating Christmas (obviously!). There are some serious rules, though. All pets are welcome, even cats, but your pet must always be well-behaved. You are responsible for cleaning up after your pet. You also cannot ever leave your pet alone, even in your own RV.

Newton Street

Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt is about thirty miles from Monroe City. You can bring your pup with you to enjoy a cold treat here any day of the week. Make sure that you keep him on a leash while you choose your toppings. There are so many to chose from that it could take a while! This spot has pet-friendly outdoor tables where you can relax and people-watch. If you have a large group, try the party box, which is the perfect assortment for everyone to get what they want. Treat Fido with a little taste of vanilla! Bone Appetit!

Main Street

Monkey Hollow Winery and Vineyard is a seven-acre winery that is a family-run establishment. You can even bring your dog with you to tour and taste! You can also just stop in and buy a bottle. It is about thirty minutes to get here, but once you taste the wine, you will be more than willing to make the trip. You can book a reservation if you would like, either online or by phone. You will need to let them know you have your pup with you before you visit. Always keep your pup on a leash, and bring doggie waste bags for those necessary clean-ups.
