Forest Park
Forest Park in Kokomo will take you about 32 miles away from Frankfort, but it’s the pawfect neighborhood for you and your furry friend to visit. This neighborhood has not one, but two doggie parks that she’s sure to love. Mehlig Mini Mutt is one of them, and this fenced-in place caters to the smallest dogs to keep them feeling safe. The park sits next to a larger park called the Mehlig Dog Park. This park welcomes dogs of all breeds and sizes to play with each other! You can also visit Mehlig Park itself with your leashed pup for some quality time outdoors.

The Downtown neighborhood of Kokomo is also about 32 miles from Frankfort. You can check out some dog-friendly restaurants in the Downtown area, like Cook McDoogal’s Irish Pub, which has an Irish-inspired menu and some outdoor seating for pups and their owners. 3 Amigos is a local favorite for Mexican dishes, from authentic to more casual. Call ahead if you’d like to dine with your pooch at one of the outdoor tables. You can also try Main Street Café for a quick breakfast, yummy sandwich or panini, or even your morning coffee. The sidewalk tables are pawfect for a cozy bite to eat.

The Carmel Arts & Design District in Carmel is one pawtastic place that people not only love to visit for its rich artistry and culture, but also for its dog-friendly activities for pups and their owners. This neighborhood is about 37.5 miles from Frankfort. Canine Cloud Nine is in the Arts & Design District, bringing dogs some of the healthiest organic treats around. Stop here for dog food and goodies made with fresh ingredients like fruits and veggies! The neighborhood also has several restaurants that welcome dogs at outdoor tables, like Mudbugs Cajun Café, Bub’s Burgers & Ice Cream, and Muldoon’s.
