Little York Pattenburg

Directly adjacent to Frenchtown is Little York Pattenburg in Milford, and this neighborhood is home to quite a few spacious green areas. One of the most popular is the Schick Reserve, where you will find 311 acres of fields, hills and woodlands, as well as a ten mile long unpaved loop trail. For a shorter walk, Alexandria Park has a paved walking trail, as well as sports facilities and picnic areas. If you and Fido would like to do some camping nearby, the Mountain View Campground welcomes dogs, as long as they are kept on a lead when outside of your vehicle.

East Pittstown

East Pittstown

East Pittstown is less than a mile from Frenchtown, and has a couple of green spaces worth exploring. This is where you will find the Capoolong Creek Wildlife Management Area, which boasts a four mile trail that runs alongside Capoolong Creek, following an old railroad track. This is quite a varied but quiet trail, and will take you and Fido through a number of different woodland areas that are home to a diverse array of wildlife, from deer to rare birds. Since there are so many animals that live here, it is important that you keep your pooch on a lead to ensure that these precious natural habitats are not disturbed.

Upper Black Eddy

Upper Black Eddy

Located directly across the Delaware River from Frenchtown, the small village of Upper Black Eddy in Pennsylvania is an extremely serene area. There are two pawsome parks to be found here, with the first being the Ringing Rocks County Park. The park stretches out for 123 acres, and features a huge boulder field with rock piles reaching up to ten feet in height. When these rocks are struck with a hammer, they make a truly unique ringing sound, which is what gives the park its name. The 60 mile long Delaware Canal State Park can also be accessed from Upper Black Eddy, offering up a long walk that is packed with history and natural beauty.

The small town of Erwinna in Pennsylvania is just across the river from Frenchtown, and boasts some pawtastic riverside views. The best place to soak up your stunning surroundings is at the 126 acre Tinicum Park, which tends to be a popular park for special occasions due to its intense beauty. There is quite a bit to keep you and Fido busy in this park, from boating and fishing to picnicking and hiking, and there are also several historic features dotted around the park that will no doubt catch your eye. Dogs are welcome to explore this park with their owners, but need to be kept on a lead.

The neighborhood of Finn Park in Pittstown is about five miles from Frenchtown, and the journey is worth it thanks to all of the pawsome dog walks to be had here. The best can be found at Finn Road Park, which features 132 acres consisting of a sports field, a playground, a snack shack and a picnic pavilion. The paved walking path within the park stretches out for half a mile, and is great for a leisurely stroll. If you and Fido would like more of a challenge, the park is also home to a moderate hiking trail that is just over three miles in length. This trail will take you through both woodlands and fields, giving your pup plenty of new ground to explore.
