Clinton
The Clinton neighborhood of Clinton is right next to Glen Gardner, and there are some pawsome dog walks to be found here. One of the most popular areas among the canines of Clinton is the Union Forge Nature Preserve, where you will find 95 acres of beautiful greenery to explore. The hiking trail within the park stretches out for one and a half miles, taking you through woodlands and meadows. If you want to walk even further, this trail is actually a section of the longer Highlands Trail, which stretches out for over 100 miles through New Jersey and New York.

High Bridge
The High Bridge neighborhood of High Bridge lies directly south of Glen Gardner, and is an area that your pup will really love. This is where you will find the Voorhees State Park, featuring 1336 acres of woodlands and meadows. There are several picnic areas and grills dotted throughout the park, as well as seven hiking trails, each one varying in length and difficulty level. At 1.4 miles in length, the Cross Park Trail is the longest in the park, and will take you through a fast-growing forest, while the 0.6 mile Brookside Trail is an especially scenic walk that follows alongside Willoughby Brook.

Charlestown Road
The neighborhood of Charlestown Reserve in Hampton is right next to Glen Gardner, and boasts one of the finest green spaces in the area. The Charlestown Reserve consists of 269 acres of conserved land, with the main habitat here being oak hickory forest. There are a few recreational activities available here, such as canoeing, mountain biking and hunting, and there is also an extensive network of hiking trails that you and Fido can follow, with many of them connecting up with each other. Dogs are welcome to explore the reserve with their owners, but do need to be kept on a lead at all times. Don't forget to bring some doggie bags and drinking water with you too!

Annandale Town Center
About three and a half miles from Glen Gardner is the Town Center of Annandale, and although this is quite a busy neighborhood, there are still a few pockets of greenery to keep Fido entertained. The most popular is the Beaver Brook Ravine, because this is where you will find the challenging Beaver Brook Trail. This trail features long ascents, narrow sections and uneven footing, so you need to make sure that your dog is physically fit to walk it. For a more relaxing walk, take a stroll around the Springside Woodlands, which is home to a couple of sports fields surrounded by dense woodlands.

Washington Township
Just over six miles from Glen Gardner is the Washington neighborhood of Washington Township, which provides access to two pawsome parks. At 401 acres in size, the Roaring Rock Park is home to a wide variety of different plants and animals, and is primarily made up of woodlands, along with a few ponds and a creek. Fishing is a popular activity here, as is hiking, and there are three main hiking trails to choose from. This neighborhood also provides access to Meadow Breeze Park, with its sports facilities, playground, picnic areas and walking paths. Dogs are welcome at both parks, but do need to be kept on a lead.
