You will also need to bring plenty of waste bags with you as well as water for you and your dog.

South Palisades

South Palisades is great for you and your dog if you are looking for lots of woods and open land to explore. This neighborhood is pawfect for taking your dog for a long walk. It is right on the New York/New Jersey line, which gives you easy access to the parks and forests that are right across the border. You can grab some friends and their dogs and head to the Rockleigh Woods Sanctuary, just a short ten-minute drive to the south of Palisades in New Jersey. Sidewalk Bistro is a great lunch option if you are looking for a spot with delicious food and a pleasant outdoor seating area. With thirteen outdoor tables, you will have no problem finding a seat for the two of you.

Orangeburg

Orangeburg is a small town less than thirty minutes northwest of Palisades. You can pack up your pup for a day of rolling around in the grass and head to Independence Park, an open field park with trees and walking paths for you and your pooch to explore all afternoon long. The park is the pawfect place for an early morning picnic before the summer sun gets too hot.
