This dog-friendly neighborhood has the pawfect hiking trail. The Glacial Drumlin State Trail is part of the Rails-To-Trails Conservancy, which turns old rail lines into hiking trails. This trail stretches across 53 miles and has various surfaces, including asphalt, gravel and crushed stone. As you walk, you can see where the glaciers carved out hills, wetlands, rivers and ponds during the Ice Age. The wetlands are home to diverse wildlife, so you'll see several interesting creatures along the way! You will want to bring along plenty of water and supplies for cleaning up after your pooch, and you'll need to keep your pup on-leash here.

Northeast Lake Mills

If you're looking to do something different with your pooch, this neighborhood has just the activity for you! The Tyranena Brewing Company is located in Lake Mills, and is very dog-friendly. This is a huge brewing company which you can tour. Your pooch is not allowed to go on the tour with you, but they can wait on the accommodating patio for you to return. The patio is dog-friendly and has a water bowl for your pooch to drink out of. The brewery also features live music and holds events for canine friends, so be sure to check out what's happening when planning your visit!

This Fido-friendly neighborhood has a great place for your pooch to run around and get rid of pent-up energy. Just 9 miles from Lake Mills, you'll find the Terri Tinsley Dog Exercise Area, which encompasses 23 acres for dogs to stretch their legs and run freely in the tall grass. It's located within Jefferson County Park, which recently added a 36-acre fenced-in, grassy area for your pooch to explore. The off-leash exercise area has plenty of shade and a trail, which takes you through the new expansion. In this area, there are 2 areas for larger dogs as well as 2 areas for smaller breeds. You will want to bring some water with you, but the park offers plenty of doggy waste bags. Something to keep in mind is that there is a small $5 fee to enjoy this park.

Viking County Park

This dog-friendly Stoughton neighborhood has plenty of op-paw-tunities for fun in the sun with your pooch. It is located 25 miles from Lake Mills, Wisconsin and is home to the Viking Dog Park. This dog park has it all! This is an off-leash, fenced-in dog park that has plenty of grass for your pup to run and romp in. Your pooch will love that they can play in the open field, or you can walk with them along the wooded trail. When you finish playing and walking, there are two small beaches and a dock that your furry friend will love to make a splash in. Keep in mind you will need to bring your own water and some supplies for cleaning up after your pooch. Grab a towel and head over to this pawesome park!

This puptastic neighborhood is located 22 miles from Lake Mills, Wisconsin and is home to the Whitewater Bark Park. This dog park is securely fenced so your pup can play off-leash! Your pooch must have a license to enter the park, and there is a fee for visiting. You can acquire a tag at the Whitewater Municipal Center. The fees are $15 for residents, $25 for non-residents and there is a fee of $5 per day if you do not want to purchase an annual pass. There's more than enough room to run around in this grassy park! The park also offers a small agility station where your pooch can play with other canine friends. There are plenty of trees and seating for dogs and owners, too. All you need to bring is plenty of energy! (And some waste bags.)
