Brownie’s Beach is a beautiful beach on the Chesapeake Bay that welcomes dogs on-leash! You and your furry best friend will have a pawesome time at this fun-filled beach.
Parking is available in a lot right next to the beach. If this lot is full, there’s an auxiliary lot next to Beach Elementary School, which is about .25 miles from Brownie’s Beach. When you reach the beach, the first thing you’ll see is a boardwalk. This boardwalk offers great views of the cliffs around the beach. Once you get onto the beach itself, you can go for a walk with your pup on the shoreline. As you’re walking, be sure to look out for fossilized shark teeth. Brownie’s Beach is famous for having tons of these fossils.
If your pup gets hot while you’re walking, they can splash around in the bay’s cool water—just be sure to keep them on their leash while they’re in the water. After you’re finished with your walk, you and your dog can lounge on the sand together. There are plenty of trees along the beach that will keep you and your dog shady and cool while you’re relaxing. If you need to clean up your dog, doggy bags are available near the entrance to the beach.
From Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, there is a fee to go on Brownie’s Beach. For Calvert County residents, the fee ranges from $5 to $10. For non-county residents, the fee ranges from $10 to $18. The beach is free to use for Chesapeake Beach residents and guests.
Brownie’s Beach is a scenic bayside beach that’s full of attractions you and your pup will both love. Be sure to bring some drinking water with you to the beach, and have a fun day out in the sun with your dog!
