Centerville Beach Off Leash Dog Area

Smack dab and surrounded by the picturesque dairy county in Ferndale, California, you and your pooch will find a 9-mile stretch of sand known as Centerville Beach, and smack dab in the middle of that, you'll find Centerville Beach Off-Leash Dog Area. This beach is the perfect spot for your pup to run around leash free, splash around in the ocean on the California coastline, and enjoy a carefree, coastal picnic. You can even have your dog ride alongside as you enjoy a horseback trot across the sandy beach. 

You and your pup are welcome on this beach all year round, but the County requests that you and your four-legged friend follow along with some strict rules and regulations. 

First things first, you and your pup are welcome to run around off leash from October all the way through until February. If you and your pup choose to do this, please make sure you have a pup who is strictly trained with voice control (we don't want any wild doggos running around). 

If you and your pup choose to visit Centerville Beach Dog Area from March to September, please keep your pup on the wave slope (and probably on a leash, although those rules and regulations aren't clear). The beach also asks that you abide by a pack in and pack out rule, (leave only pawprints, as they say). Make sure you and your pooch are always following the posted rules, and stay current- and tide-aware so you and your pooch don't get caught in a riptide.
