Gin Beach

If you're looking for your next great Long Island adventure, Gin Beach is the place for you! Nestled along the coast of Long Island, the refreshing waters of Block Island Sound beckon all people and their pooches to come on in for a pawsome swim! Gin Beach is a relatively small beach, but its calm waters are incredibly inviting. It is one of the only New York coastal areas which has a roped and protected swimming section to ensure the safety of all who take the plunge into its waters. 

Fido can enjoy relaxing on the sand with the whole fam or to test out his doggy paddle in the Sound; he is warmly welcomed in all areas of this lovely beach. If you decide to practice your breaststroke alongside your best canine pal, you would be wise to don some water shoes as the Sound is lined with pebbles which are hard on the feet. Since New York state observes very strict leash laws, you'll need to pack a lead and to keep Fido on it at all times to keep the pawlice away. 

A town parking permit is required to use the lot associated with Gin Beach. Parking permits are free for residents of Montauk. Non-residents may purchase a pass for the cost of $125 with the permit being valid for one full calendar year. 

There is a long pier composed of rocks that is the ideal platform to perch on while casting your line into the sea. Fishing is plentiful here, and Fido may join you as you while the day away trying to catch your lunch. Just be sure to pack a snack, so Fido doesn't get into your bait! 

While you're out and about, why not comb the beach for some treasured sea glass to bring home as a memento of a woofderful vacation with Fido and the whole fam? Other pawrific features include stunning sunsets and viewing pleasurecraft and cruise ships as they meander in and out of the harbor. RV camping is available directly on the beach, giving Fido and your fam the pawrfect spot to drink in the crisp sea air and get a good night's sleep. Bathrooms with showers are available on the premises for the pawblic to use. Don't forget to pack some bottled water and cleanup bags in your beach bag!
