If you take your furry friend to Hale’iwa Beach Park, you will pawbably get a big sloppy kiss of appreciation! Located on Oahu’s famous North Shore, this beach is a pawfect place to revel in island vibes and soak in some sun with your pupster. So grab the leash and head on over!
Like the name suggests, Haleiwa Beach Park is a
woofderful sandy beach and a puptacular park area all rolled into one. When on
the beach, your pooch is allowed to go anywhere beneath the high tide line, so
they can scamper across the wet sand and play in the water. Or they can put
their paws to work and dig a masterful hole. They will also enjoy strolling
along the surf. Whatever they do, they will be in paradise… literally!
During the summer, the waves at Haleiwa are pretty calm
like the other North Shore beaches. This makes it a pawsome spot for swimmers, paddle
boarders, kayakers, and beginning surfers. At times, this beach is used for
canoe training and regattas. Note that the ocean floor just off the shore can be a bit rocky, so if your doggo does go in the water,
help them find a soft sandy section.
The park itself has a playground, basketball court, and
picnic tables. Here you will also find restrooms and showers. If your pupster needs a break from the sand,
take a quick walk around the park’s grassy field. There are some shade trees,
but for the most part the pawperty is exposed. Dogs can get pretty thirsty when playing at the beach, so make sure you
always have plenty of water on hand. Also, keep the beach smelling nice and
fresh by bringing a clean up bag and picking up after your pup.
Make no mistake, your pup will go coco-mutts
over Haleiwa Beach Park!
