Though this beach is open year-round, heavy snowfall makes it a little harder for you to access the grounds. Your best bet is to visit between the months of May and October. Though California does observe leash laws, the local paw-lice don't mind if your best canine pal takes an unleashed dive in the water chasing after his favorite stick. Be sure to have a leash with you just in case it is needed, but so long as your favorite furry friend is well-behaved and comes when called, you can allow Fido to enjoy a little off-leash run too.Â
Fancy a refreshing dip in the cool lake waters? Be sure to pack your best barkini, so you and your best canine bud can practice your doggy paddling! Just remember that the water levels are sometimes a little low, but that's okay, you can use the time to comb the beach for some treasures for a game of fetch or a souvenir of a furific day with your favorite pooch!
There are bathrooms on the grounds for public use, but it is unknown if there are showers or if there is water access. Be sure to pack a kit full of all of the pawsitively awesome things needed for a great day of fun at the beach including bottled water, clean up bags, and even a Scooby Snack or two!
If you're thinking a day reconnecting with nature is just what the dog-tor had in mind, don't delay! Pack up Fido and the whole fam and head to Horseshoe Lake!
