Jalama Beach

If a day at the beach tops your wish list of pawsome things to do, you'll be tickled pink to visit Jalama Beach! Housed on 23.5 acres of land just one hour outside of Santa Barbara, this pawsitively awesome beach is a pawpular spot amongst pooches and their people. Taking its name from an old Chumash settlement known as "Halama," this beach is a haven of seaside calm with some added conveniences such as a post office and beach store to make a visit to this pawrific place feel like home. 

Pooches are not only welcomed at Jalama Beach; they are wanted! You will find this seaside paradise is dog-friendly to the max! Your fave canine pal can join you in all areas of the beach from the sand to the surf! But to avoid any ruff run-ins with the paw patrol, it's best that you keep Fido on his leash at all times. 

There is a $10 per vehicle entrance fee, plus an additional cost of $3 per pet, per visit, bringing the total price of admission to $13 per day, assuming you are bringing just one dog with you. If you're planning for your entire pooch pack to tag along, not a problem! It's just $3 extra per dog for all of your canine fam to enjoy some beachside fun. 

And oh, what pawrific adventures await you at Jalama Beach! You can plunk yourself down on the white sandy shores and await the plentiful opportunities for both whale and bird watching. The area is also the pawrfect spot for some fishing since the waters are chock full of such fish as perch, kelp, bass, halibut, and cabezon. 

What could be more woofderful than a picnic by the sea? If you forgot to pack a lunch and the fish just aren't biting, you might want to stop by the Jalama Beach Store and Grill. If you do, you won't want to leave without sampling their World Famous Jalama Burger or a slice of Aunt Ruth's Raw Apple Pie! They are both pawsitively delightful! Just be sure to pack some Scooby snacks, bottled water, and cleanup bags, so you will have all the things Fido might need for his day of beach fun.
