La Jolla Shores Beach

Of all the wonderful things you've heard and read about La Jolla, its glorious beaches are the top of any La Jolla list - and you and your dog should be able to enjoy it together! La Jolla Shores Beach stretches for a mile along the pawrific Pacific Ocean, offering you and your pup gentle waves to splash in, tons of seaweed to sniff, campfire opportunities, and tons of sand to explore and catch up with other canine companions and their pawrents. 

Some refer to La Jolla beaches as the jewel of San Diego and it's easy to see why with photogenic coves, mystical rock formations, cliffs, and sandy shores dotted with shells. The only catch? La Jolla Shores beach has a few rules that doggos and their owners must abide by to enjoy the area. You and your leashed dog are allowed on La Jolla Shores Beach together only before 9 AM and after 4 PM from November 1 through March 31. During the busier season from April 1 to October 31, dogs can roam on the beach before 9 AM and after 6 PM. Between those restricted times, dogs are prohibited from the beach, boardwalk and in any adjacent parks. No matter what time of year, your pup will love a stroll along the shore at sunrise, and a splash watching the gorgeous sunset. 

There are plenty of bathrooms, shower stations, free parking, volleyball courts, and surfing. Your pup has to be on a leash no longer than 6 feet at all times, even in the water. be sure to bring all the essentials for a puptastic day in the sun and sand, including water to share, and clean-up bags. Pick up whatever your dog leaves behind to help keep this beach clean and dog-friendly.
