If you're itching for a swim, the manmade lake, Lake Mendocino, is the pawrfect place for you and your best canine pal to practice your doggy paddle and backstroke. If you'd rather use an oar, why not kayak up the Russian River to check out the local wildlife? Just be sure that whatever furrific activity you choose that you keep your main canine bud on his leash to stay on the fur-iendly side of the California paw-lice.

The soft sand-lined shore makes up only a narrow strip of land, but there is still ample room for you and your best canine pal to go for a stroll or to work on your suntan. Don't forget to pull up a beach towel for your fave furry fur-iend too! As you meander along the coast, you might even be lucky enough to find some "buried treasure" to take home as a reminder of your pawsome day by the lake!

Lake Mendocino is a doggone great place for you and your fave pooch to explore. The lake itself is a woofderful location for boating, swimming, and even waterskiing. If fishing is more your bag, you've come to the right place as Lake Mendocino's waters are chock full of such fish as bass, crappie, catfish, and bluegill. With over 200 campsites to choose from, you can also camp at Lake Mendocino. Bathrooms are housed on the grounds for the pawblic to use.
