Main Street Beach

Main Street Beach is located in Vermillion, OH and is near the Inland Seas Maritime Museum. It is a medium-sized beach that is a favorite hangout in the summer. The main attractions at this beach are the observation pavilion and the Vermillion Lighthouse. This is a popular area to watch the sunset over Lake Erie, with some of the best views of the setting sun in the area. 

This beach features both sandy and grassy areas, and dogs are allowed in both spots. Dogs must have a leash on at all times. Although there are no bathrooms on the beach, they are just a short walk away with easy access. There is a small shop where you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas for the day for a small fee. The beach also has a seating area where there are a lot of benches for sitting, enjoying the water, and gazing at the sunset. This is an excellent option for people who are not fond of the sand or are handicapped. 

This beach is known for being small and clean, so please pick up after your dog if they need to go to the bathroom. There are no poop bags provided, so bring your own just in case your dog needs to go. There are trash cans available for throwing the bags away. There is a strict town rule that all dogs need to be leashed while they are at the beach, in the water, or in the grassy areas.

After your stay at the beach, you can take your pooch into town where there are some shops, restaurants, bakeries, ice cream shops, and so much more. This is a great, dog-friendly beach that is best suited for taking your dog in the early morning and the evening hours when the beach is less crowded with people.
