Fido can dig to his heart's content on the white sand shores or doggy paddle the hours away in the waters of Mission Bay or the Pacific Ocean; he is welcome at both spots. But just to be sure to keep the paw-lice happy, you should keep your favorite furry friend on a lead at all times. During peak daylight hours, there are no dogs allowed on the beach; doggone it! But from April through October, the place is theirs to enjoy from 6 PM until 9 AM the following morning. During the winter months, defined as from November through March, you and your best canine pal can kick up your heels in the sand from 4 PM until 9 AM the next day.
Mission Beach and Promenade has many things for you to do, and your best canine bud is welcome too! Why not meander the Promenade, taking your time to discover the eclectic mix of shops, bars, and cafes, many of which offer patio seating, so Fido can join you for a snack or drink? Other pawrific activities include surfing, fishing, boogie boarding, walking, jogging, and biking.
Don't forget to pack all of the things you might need for a pawrific day of beach fun, including bottled water, food, and some clean up bags. If you need a bathroom, there are many of them scattered throughout the beach.
If you're fancying a vacation, but don't have more than an afternoon to spare, bring Fido and the whole family to Mission Beach and Promenade. You'll doggone love it!
