The beach can be found 15 miles south of Oxnard along the Pacific Coast Highway. Parking is $12 per car, per day, or $3 per hour. From here, you can unload your pup from the vehicle and hit the beach! Though you may see pups running off leash here, dogs should be leashed per park rules. Your pal is bound to make some new doggy friends and enjoy some pawsitive socialization.Â
This rugged beach offers views of rocky bluffs, hills, sand dunes, and famously gorgeous sunsets. The waters can be ruff at times, so swimmers and doggy paddlers should use caution. That being said, Mugu Beach is commonly used for all kinds of activities like surfing, swimming, and fishing. If you and your canine companion would like to explore further, you can take a hike on some of the 70 miles of trails found in Point Mugu State Park. Puppers are allowed everywhere except for the backcountry trails and dirt roads. Sounds like the pawfect way to warm up before a splash in the cool pacific ocean!Â
Amenities at Mugu Beach also include portable toilets and coin operated showers. Owners are asked to please pick up after their pooches, so be sure to bring clean up bags. Water to share, and even snacks, are a good idea too!Â
Mugu Beach is a people and puppy pleaser every time!Â
