North of the Tide Park Beach

Tide Park Beach is a scenic beach right on the Pacific Ocean that’s famous for its stunning cliffs and unique tidal pools. Pups are welcome to join you at the northern end of Tide Park Beach on leashes that are six feet or shorter.

Free street parking is available right near the entrance to Tide Park Beach on Solana Vista Drive. After you’ve parked, head over to the intersection Pacific Avenue and Solana Vista Drive. Here, you’ll find a staircase that takes you down to the beach itself. The beach is surrounded by cliffs, making it feel secluded. Pups are allowed on the beach north of the staircase, and they can go as far as Cardiff State Beach.

As you walk through the dog-friendly portion of Tide Park Beach, you’ll pass tons of beautiful tidal pools. These tidal pools are filled with aquatic life, including mussels, starfish, anemones, crabs, and lots of small fish. Your pup can also splash around in the Pacific Ocean if they’d like—just be sure to keep them on their leash while they’re playing. It can be difficult to walk around here during high tide, so it’s a good idea to try and time your visits with low tide. 

There’s no drinking water available at the beach, so be sure to bring some with you for you and your pup. It’s also a good idea to bring some doggy bags with you. If your pup gets messy while they’re playing in the sand, a shower is available next to the staircase at the entrance to the beach.

Tide Park Beach is a puptastic place to take dogs who love playing in the ocean or running around on the sand. Be sure to clean up after your dog while you’re at the beach, and have a fun day out in the sun with your pup!
