Pensacola Beach Dog Beaches

Pups living in northwestern Florida sure have it made! With lovely weather, and beaches galore, these pups are living it up! For those in the Pensacola Beach area, check out the Pensacola Beach Dog Beaches!

Located on the barrier island of Santa Rosa in the Gulf of Mexico, Pensacola Beach's famous white sugar sand beaches attract locals and tourists alike. Most of the beaches in town and on the island prohibit doggos, but lucky for them, there are two dog beaches, which are sometimes called dog parks, where they can romp in the sand, and splash in the ocean.

Pensacola Dog Beach West can be found along Fort Pickens Road near the intersection with N Galvez Court. With a parking lot located at Lot B, just after the last Gulf condos, visitors can use walkover 21E to access the beach.

The second area, Pensacola Dog Beach East, is located off of Via de Luna Drive. Parking for the Dog Beach is at Lot E, which is the first lot after the Portofino Island Resort heading east. Visitors can use beach walkover 28B to get to the furbulous sand!

Dogs are allowed only on these two beaches throughout the island, on leash at all times. Posted signs help designate the dog-friendly areas. Pups should also have a visible and current rabies tag on their collars to romp on the beach. For your convenience, both beaches offer trash bins and clean-up bags, so be sure to always pick up after your pup. Bring all other beach essentials for a fun and safe day in the sun and sand, including food, and water to share with your thirsty pup. With little shade, these beaches can get hot on those precious paws, so it may be good to bring something for shade in the summer.

Summer also brings turtle season, where turtles walk the beaches to find places to hatch their eggs. Be sure to leave these gentle creatures alone if you see them!
