Pawrking can be found at either of these two beaches, with Phillp Burton Memorial Beach only a short walk away. The easiest way to access this sandy retreat is from Fort Funston Beach. If you walk directly south from Fort Funston's coastline, you can then follow a set of stairs and a trail which leads directly to the Phillip Burton Memorial Beach. 

This beach is a little more challenging to get to, so it receives far less traffic than other California beaches. If you were hoping for a secluded stretch of beach for you and your pooch to enjoy, you will find it here!

Phillip Burton Memorial Beach has lots to offer peeps and their pups in search of adventure! If you love to explore, there is an out and back trail that is 0.8 miles in total where you and your pupperoni can work up an appetite. There is also a cave on the premises. Grab your phone and turn on the flashlight setting to check it out. Your pooch may join you in all areas of this beach, including the cave, trail, and water, but you must keep them on a leash. 

Other pawsome activities at this beach include fishing, hiking, and beachcombing. The scenery is also woofderfully beautiful at this seaside retreat, so be sure to bring along your camera! Swimming is permitted for both peeps and pooches, but be careful not to swim if the current is strong or rip tides are present. You'll need to bring along drinking water, clean-up bags, and a packed lunch, as no amenities are provided at this pawtastic beach haven.
