Ready for a day of fun at a beautiful spot by the sea? You'll want to plan a trip to the Rocky Gap State Park Beach! It's the pawrfect place to take Fido and the family for a day of seaside fun. With 3,000 acres of land encompassed by a stunning mountain range, there is ample ground to get in a pawsome workout before hitting the waves. 

Best of all, your fave pooch can tag along too, as Fido is invited to join you in all areas of Rocky Gap State Park Beach during non peak season. From Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend, no pups are allowed on the sand beach, so plan your trip accordingly. But not to worry, there are lots of other puptastic spots at this pawsome beach that do allow your best canine pal to frolic and swim during high tourist season. 

The crystal clear waters of the 243 acre Lake Habeeb beckons you to don your best barkini and dive in. Bring Fido along too to practice his very best doggy paddle. But swimming is not the only pawsitively awesome thing to do at Rocky Gap State Park Beach. Canoe and kayak rentals are available via an on-premise camp store. If you've been longing to get out on the water and try your hand at some fishing, why not rent a boat and give it a whirl? If you are lucky enough to catch some fresh fish, you can grill it up on one of the provided barbecues then relax and enjoy your bounty with your favorite pooch and people in one of the beach's picnic areas. What could be more puptastic than that? 

There is a $5 fee to visit this beach. Camping is also available at this woofderful spot, and there are both bathrooms and showers for pawblic use. If you forgot to pack a picnic lunch, why not stop by the Hawk's Nest Cafe for a treat or two? Fido may join you on the outdoor patio while you enjoy a cup o'joe and a cookie. Be sure to bring a snack and some bottled water for your fave furry friend to enjoy! And some cleanup bags are always a good idea. This Allegany County beach and recreational area does require that all pooches remain on a lead.
