The trail that leads down into the cove is a steep, slippery hike with no handles or support to hold onto. Please approach this path with caution to ensure you make it up and down safely. It is also not handicap accessible. The plus side of where this cove sits is that it is obstructed from roadways.
Besides the hike, the surf and sandy beach area make for the perfect place for both you and your pup to take a dip in the water. The shoreline isn't incredibly long; however, the water is a perfect depth to play in with your pooch. Your dog must be on a leash that is six feet long or shorter at all times. This is to ensure the safety of other dogs. The rising surf and tides can play a factor in how much beach is available. Please make sure to check the currents to make sure that there will be dry beach before heading to the shore with your furry companion.Â
Parking and restrooms are a good 10-minute walk away at Mill Bay, so be sure to plan accordingly! The Cove does provide plastic bags and trash cans to ensure you properly dispose of your dogs waste and keep the beaches clean for others to enjoy.Â
Unfortunately, the cove doesn't offer many other amenities, so be sure to pack shade and water for your doggo's adventurous day. Your pup is your responsibility, so please keep them near you at all times and be cognisant of others around you.
