That's right, Upton Beach (technically at Stinson Beach) allows you to bring your canine companion with you while you beachcomb, explore, romp in the ocean waves, and run around in the sand. Though a beautiful beach, this one might be hard to spot as it's a less-known beach access. It's public in both directions, but there's no signage that really makes it clear, so as long as you're in the right spot, you and your pooch should be good to go (we suggest taking Highway 1 in Stinson Beach and turning on Calle Del Arroyo before continuing to the end of the road where Seadrift Community is.)Â
Once you hit that, there should be a public entrance for Upton Beach. The only rules of the Upton Beach (that pertain to dogs, that is) require you to keep your four-legged friend on a leash at all times. The beach doesn't specifically tell you how long the leash should be, but for safety's sake, don't bring your dog out on a leash that's more than 8 feet long.Â
Another obvious regulation is that you come prepared to clean up after your dog. Doggo poop bags are a must. Finally, don't leave anything behind! Pick up your trash, pack out what you pack in, and leave only pawprints in your place. Enjoy the beach!
