Antlers Campground is located on Shasta Lake in Lakehead, California within the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. Campers in tents and RVs are welcome, as are pets, but no more than two pets per site are permitted. The campground charges a pet fee of $2 per night, and you'll need to register your dog before you're allowed inside the campground. Proof of up-to-date parvo, rabies, and distemper vaccinations is required at check-in.
Your pooch will need to be on a leash under your direct supervision throughout your visit. The campground is surrounded by pine, oak, and Manzanita trees, so campers will enjoy plenty of shade and privacy during their stay. The Shasta-Trinity National Forest is the largest forest in California, and it's filled with fun activities for campers at Antlers to enjoy!
Each campsite comes with a tent pad, a campfire ring, a picnic table, and grills. There aren't dump sites or water hookups at the sites, but there are flushing and vault toilets available. Antlers Campground has hot shower facilities, and drinking water is also provided for you and Rex. This tech-friendly campground has a wifi hotspot on the deck, and each RV site comes with a free cable hookup.
Antlers Campground has amenities that go far beyond basic camping needs. Visitors can enjoy the campground's pool, the basketball and volleyball courts, ping pong, laundry facilities, a snack bar, and a playground! Campers can also travel into town to visit Lakehead's restaurants and shops. Campsites are equipped with bear-safe lockers, so be sure to store your food correctly because the animals are often seen in the park.
There's a public boat ramp near the campground, and campers can choose from power boating or non-motorized boating on Lake Shasta. There are also plenty of prime fishing spots on Lake Shasta where anglers can catch trout, catfish, salmon, crappie, bluegill, and white sturgeon. If you'd like to park or launch your boat at the public boat ramp, it will cost you $12 a day.
Near the campground, you'll find an amphitheater that hosts interactive programs each weekend between Memorial Day to Labor Day. On those same weekends, Antlers Campground hosts Sunday morning pancake breakfasts, and on Monday nights, there's family bingo for campers.
Peak season at Antlers Campground is from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but this furrific campground is open year-round, and you and your pet are sure to love it!
