Description
Boca Campground is located in Tahoe National Forest in California. The campground sits on Boca Reservoir, which is a popular place to go swimming, fishing, boating, kayaking, or just to relax and take in the views of the water. The usage at this site is heavy, so you can expect to be around a lot of people if you decide to camp here. Peak season runs from May to October, which draws the most people during this time of the year.

Boca is only 25 minutes from Lake Tahoe, making it a great location if you wish to be in the area and have the ability to drive to the lake for the numerous activities in that area. Stampede Reservoir is only about ten minutes away as well, and it is popular for fishing and water sports.

In the immediate area of Boca Campground, you will have access to Little Truckee River, which is wonderful for fishing and kayaking. The campground itself is quite open but features sagebrush and some pine trees, but there is little shade at the campground and most of the sites and amenities are directly in the sun. Amenities at the site include single-family sites, campfire rings, drinking water, a picnic area, trash collection, camp host, and vault toilets. There are no showers or dump stations at this location, so if those features are important to you, you may want to seek an alternative campground.

Dogs are allowed at the site, but they should wear their leash at all times. You are required to pick up after your dog when they are finished doing their business and throw their used poop bags away in the proper manner. Always make sure your dog has water and a cool, shady place to relax during the day.

Overall, Boca Campground sits in a wonderful location that has lots of natural features, access to water, and most of the amenities you are likely looking for while camping. We are confident you and your dog will love hanging out together for a few days!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
