Goose Meadows

The picture-perfect campsites of Goose Meadows Campground can be found sitting along the beautiful bank of the Truckee River. There's plenty of shade to be found here, as this stunning spot is surrounded by a fragrant forest of lodgepole pine and fir trees. Those who are looking for a quieter alternative to the Lake Tahoe campgrounds often stay at Goose Meadows instead, because it's just a short walk, cycle, or drive from the lake itself. 

There is so much hiking and biking fun to have while staying at gorgeous Goose Meadows, with an abundance of terrific trails to choose from. You'll find a paved promenade just south of the main campgrounds that can bring you and your pawesome pal on a wagging wander along the Truckee River to Tahoe City or, if you head the other direction, you can have a dog-friendly feast in food-loving Squaw Valley! The car camping at Goose Meadows means you're free to explore the best this area has to offer. 

Each of the 24 campsites at Goose Meadows has a picnic table, a fire ring, and a grill for you to enjoy, as well as a storage locker to keep the smell of human and hound food away from bears. This campground is located close to Highway 89, so it can get a bit noisy at traffic heavy times. Goose Meadows campground has potable tap water, but don't forget the doggy waste bags to clean up after your canine! 

As well as hiking and biking oppawtunities, there's also buckets of water-based activities for visitors to enjoy on the ravishing river. Fly-fishing is a favorite among Truckee River visitors, and the gentle current means that this is the perfect spot for rafting!
