Boca Spring is a beautiful, secluded campground in the Tahoe National Forest. This campground has 16 sites and one large group campsite. The campground is located in a thick forest that’s filled with fir trees and Jeffrey pines. To reach the campground, you’ll have to take a milelong gravel road that spurs off of Tahoe National Forest’s main road.
While you’re at Boca Spring, you’ll find lots of pawesome things to do with your pup. You and your dog can go for hikes together on trails that go through the forests and meadow around the campground. You can also grill up lunch or dinner for you and your pup on one of the campground’s charcoal grills. Every site also comes with a campfire ring you can use to build your perfect campfire. Note that, while campfires are allowed, fire restrictions may be imposed during hot or dry weather.
If you get thirsty, water spigots are available at the campground. There’s also a camp host on-site who can sell you firewood and answer any questions you may have about Boca Spring and the surrounding area.
Boca Spring is also just a short drive from many of Tahoe National Forest’s most popular sites, including Boca Reservoir. Boca Reservoir is a popular place for boating, and you and your dog can also go swimming together here. When you’re at Boca Spring, you’ll also be a short drive from the Little Truckee River, a favorite of many fly-fishermen. You'll also find also lots of picturesque hiking trails by this scenic river. Plus, Boca Spring is just 30 miles from the world-famous Lake Tahoe, a furrific place to go for a day trip with your pup!
