Description

Tucked away in North Carolina's Badin Lake Recreation Area, Arrowhead Campground provides easy access to a wide range of recreational activities. And with a pet-friendly campground that accommodates tents and RVs, it's a destination well worth checking out if you're planning a camping vacation with your canine pal.

Part of the Uwharrie National Forest, this facility offers excellent opportunities for recreation, whether you're looking to hike, fish, launch a boat, or go mountain biking.

The Badin Lake Hiking Trail follows the lake's shoreline for half of its distance and then loops back through hardwood forests to the facility's boat ramp. Hikers have the choice of completing the easier 2.5-mile loop or tackling the entire 5.6-mile trail.

Anglers can fish the shoreline of Badin Lake from several spots along the trail, or use the floating pier located on the north side of Kings Mountain Point. The lake's waters are home to catfish, largemouth bass, striped bass, and more. Other popular activities include swimming, sunbathing, boating, water skiing, and sailing.

When you're ready to set up camp for the night, Arrowhead Campground boasts 48 sites for tent and RV camping. Most campsites are arranged into one large loop, but you'll also find a few tent-only campsites outside the main loop. Standard non-electric sites start from $18 a night, while electric sites are $25 a night.

Dogs are welcome in the campground but must be kept on a leash of six feet or shorter and under control at all times. It's also essential that you clean up your dog's waste whenever necessary and that you never leave your pet unattended.

Surrounded by loblolly pines and oaks, Arrowhead Campground is a scenic spot where you and your canine pal can relax, get back to nature, and enjoy the best of life in North Carolina's great outdoors. And because it's just over an hour's drive south of Greensboro, it's easy to access all year round.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
