Description

Autrain Lake is located in the Upper Peninsula region of Michigan, with nearby access to a total of three different Great Lakes. It's surrounded by pristine forested areas that give overnight guests a taste of true Northern isolation. Make sure to check out the skies at night, as Autrain Lake is a great place for stargazing.

Overnight guests have their choice of 33 total sites in Autrain Lake Campground, all of which come standard with both a fire ring and outdoor table in case you're putting together a feast. These sites can host tents, recreational vehicles, and popup campers but are notably lacking any plumbing or electrical hookups, so you'll need to come prepared for a more primitive experience. Modern restroom facilities are absent, as well as other modern amenities like laundry and coin-operated showers. Guests with Fido in tow are to keep them in their tent or vehicle during the evening hours, as leash stakes are not allowed. Drinking water is available outside of the pit toilets in case the water bowl has run dry.

A complimentary boat ramp is provided for guests just outside of the main entrance to Autrain Lake campground, open to any overnight guests looking to hit the waves. Motorboats tend to be the more commonly seen vessels here, along with associated activities like tubing and water skiing. Make sure you've brought your boating license, as well as verified that your boat's registration is up-to-date before your visit. If you're adamant about having your canine companion be second-in-command as you navigate the waters of Autrain Lake, be sure to keep them on restraint and out of the waters.

Would-be visitors to Autrain Lake Campground are warned that the area's surrounding parks, stores, and other attractions may often come with some unknown additional costs. Make sure you've done your research on these surrounding areas before planning your vacation.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
