Description
Baker Creek Campground is located in Bishop, California, near Big Pine. The sites at the campground are situated below the southernmost glacier in North America, giving the campground a unique and wonderful location, perfect for campers who are looking for camping with a view! The sites are also near crystal-clear mountain streams and lakes that are stocked with fish. Baker Creek has 43 campsites and generally has spots available throughout the year. Peak season runs all year long from January to December.

The most popular activities in the area include fishing in the lakes and streams, sightseeing, watching the wildlife, birding, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and taking ATVs on approved trails. At night, the skies and are dark and clear, so stargazing is a favorite activity as well. The campsites are a mixture of wide open spaces and places where there are quite a number of trees that provide ample shade if you are looking for relief from the sun. There are no loud and noisy roads close to the campground, so you will get a quiet and peaceful camping experience no matter when you camp.

The campground's amenities include fire rings, a group picnic area, picnic tables, trash cans, and vault toilets. There are no showers at the site, and there is no dump station.

Dogs are allowed at the campground, but they should wear a leash at all times. There are no poop bags at the sites, so bring your own so you can clean up after your dog. You can discard the poop bags in one of the trash cans throughout the campground. Make sure your dog always has access to drinking water and a cool and comfortable place to sleep and relax.

Overall, Baker Creek Campground is an excellent spot if you are looking for a secluded and quiet location and don't need a ton of amenities and features throughout the grounds.
