Bay View Campground is one of northern Michigan’s top campgrounds. Furry paws are welcome at Bay View, so you can enjoy the company of your dog while you immerse yourself in the campground’s amazing setting. Bay View Campground rests beside Lake Superior in Hiawatha National Forest—a truly spectacular backdrop with numerous outdoor recreation sites for you and your waggy friend to explore!
The campground houses 16 campsites, and the nightly fee for a site is just $16. You’ll have a campfire ring with a grill and a picnic table at your site, and you can find other useful amenities at the campground like drinking water, a self-pay station, and trash collection service. There is also a campground host on-duty to answer any questions you might have and ensure your camping experience goes smoothly.
While you’re staying at Bay View, you’ll definitely want to explore Hiawatha National Forest’s pawesome outdoors scene. There are miles of sandy beaches you can enjoy, and the campground has its own swimming area as well. While you’re at the beach, keep an eye out for the migratory birds that pass through the area every season.
You might also want to check out Mission Hill Trail; it's a popular destination for hikers that's located just a bone's throw away from the campground! The trail spans just under four miles and is considered moderate in difficulty. This dog-friendly trail winds through the woods and provides some nice views of Spectacle Lake and Lake Superior. Just make sure you check your pooch (and yourself!) for ticks after your hike!
While you’re camping out at Bay View, please respect the campground’s pet policies. Canine companions should stay leashed at all times, and remember to clean up after your pooch as well. If you plan on bringing your RV, note that there are no hookups available. Have a pawesome time!
