Description

Blackwoods Campground is one of the most popular campgrounds in Maine. It's located in Acadia National Park, the state’s premier destination for outdoor recreation, and it provides campers with the opportunity to explore all the region has to offer. If you’re looking for the perfect spot for your next camping trip in the Northeast, you’ve found it—and you can bring your pooch along too since the campground is pet-friendly!

Blackwoods Campground features 281 pawesome sites, and each site can accommodate six campers, one vehicle, and two tents. The nightly fee for a site is $30. In addition to the nightly fee, you'll also need to pay an entrance fee which ranges from $15 to $30. Each of the campsites is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, and some of the other amenities and services on the premises include an amphitheater, a pay phone, and evening campfire programs. You can also enjoy group camping at Blackwoods; there are group sites available for a nightly fee of $60. RVs are also welcome at the campground. However, you won’t find any hookups for them, and they can’t exceed 35 feet.

There are lots of activities to explore in the area around Blackwoods Campground. Acadia National Park is known for its great trails, and you and your woofer can find paths of many different lengths and difficulties that welcome furry paws! If you’re looking for an easy, pleasant oceanside stroll, then check out Ocean Path Trail. It runs for 4.5 miles along the eastern shore and has beautiful views. If you want a more challenging hike, you can head to one of the moderate-difficulty trails nearby—The Bowl Trail and Gorham Mountain Trail are popular choices. They both span about 1.5 miles and pass through the woods; Gorham Mountain Trail is an out-and-back style trail, and The Bowl is a loop.

Throughout your stay at Blackwoods Campground, please make sure your dog is on-leash. Also, be sure to clean up after your dog.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
