Camp near a glacier's runoff at Boulder Creek Campground in Washington state. The Boulder Glacier of Mount Baker is the source of this beautiful creek, which flows right beside the camping area. The mountain itself can be seen from this facility, and visitors love how close it is to Baker Lake, a source of all kinds of summer fun.
The grounds are quite small, but beautiful nonetheless. You will find 9 sites here, 7 of which can be reserved ahead of time. A group site is also available at Boulder Creek. All standard lots cost $14.83, but expect to pay $2 more during holidays. You'll have to bring along drinking water for you and your pooch, as none is provided on-site. It's also a good idea to fill up on gas before you get here, as the nearest station is about 25 miles away -- as is the nearest area with cell service! Picnic tables and fire rings are placed at each site, but please only use locally sourced wood to save these magnificent forests.
At the grounds, you can spend your days fishing at the creek or hiking with your furry pal on the nearby trails. If you head to Baker Lake for the day, you can participate in all kinds of aquatic fun including swimming, water-skiing, and canoeing. Lucky campers may spot a mountain goat or other amazing wildlife during their stay.Â
Your fur-baby is welcome to join you as you camp at Boulder Lake, but be sure to keep them close by as a dog out in the bush can easily attract a bear to your camp. For this reason, you should also be diligent about pup-waste pickup, disposing of all doggy bags into the metal trash containers.
If mountain streams and beautiful lakes capture your heart, definitely check out Boulder Creek Campground at Mount Baker.
