MarDon Resort on Potholes Reservoir in Washington is a hidden gem every camper must visit. This campground prides itself on the resort-like amenities offered to guests, while still enjoying the rustic elegance of nature.Â
A variety of accommodations are available to meet the needs of any type of camper. RV sites, tent sites, cabins, and cottages can be found within the grounds. The basic cabins are said to be "sturdy tents" intended to make your camping experience modern. In the cabins, you will find a mini-fridge, microwave, and BBQ grill to use at your own convenience as well as 3 beds, climate control, a picnic table, and a fire-ring. Cottages come with full kitchens, utensils, bedding and towels, a television with satellite, and a DVD player. There is also climate control as well as stellar lake views, a BBQ grill, fireplace, and fire-ring.
Tent sites, on the other hand, come with picnic tables and fire-rings and have the option of seasonal camping in the beach area. Washroom, shower, and laundry facilities are located nearby as well as access to the marina. RV sites are large and have full hook-up services available. They too have a fire-ring and picnic table.
At the campground, there are a variety of activities for you to enjoy including basketball and volleyball in the designated courts, horseshoes, boating, fishing, swimming, and much more. You can also rent golf carts, paddle boards or boats, sand carts, and kayaks from the main office.Â
The campground is dog-friendly and welcomes almost all pups. Pet fees vary depending on the type of camping you are doing. For tents or RVs, the fee is $4, in cabins, it's $5, and for cottages, it is $10. Located throughout the park are "poop" stations for you to dispose of your pups waste. Unfortunately, the park does not permit Rottweilers, Pit Bulls, or Staffordshire Terriers to join their owners during their camping experience.
Why camp without the luxury? If you're looking to camp in Washington, remember MarDon Resort located on the unforgettable Potholes Reservoir.
