Description

Looking for a wet and wild fun near Redding, California? Brandy Creek Primitive Campground is sure to make a splash with your crew! As a part of Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, the campground is a terrific way for adventure-seekers (and their pooches!) to truly immerse themselves in all the beauty and excitement the area has to offer.

Each campsite has a fire ring, swing-arm grill,  lamp post, one vault toilet, and one picnic table. There is no water access, so make sure you bring plenty for your family and fur-iends. There are RV sites but no hookups for electricity. The primitive area does not have power either, so be sure to stock up on wood from the vendor! Never burn firewood from outside sources, this perpetuates the spread of tree-killing parasites and funguses. There is both an entrance fee of $10 (good for one week) and a $20 per night rate to use the campgrounds -- but these are a small price to pay for such an exciting experience!

The park is nestled in the Sacramento Valley amidst the clear waters of Whiskeytown Lake. Every direction you face has an equally picturesque outlook as the area is entirely bordered by the Klamath, Cascade, and Coast Mountain ranges. The varied terrain lends to a thriving ecosystem of both fauna and flora. One common species you will need to take precautions to avoid is the black bear. Each campsite offers a bear-proof locker for you to store your provisions, toiletries, eating utensils, and anything else that may put off an interesting smell.

There are heaps of recreational opportunities that are sure to make your family very happy campers, such as fishing, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, gold panning, and kayaking!  Don't have a kayak? There is a reasonable rental shop near the water that will get you floating in a jiffy! With all this and more, we are certain Brandy Creek Campground will make your pack very happy campers!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
