When you go camping with your friends or family at Camp 4 Group Campground, you'll have your pick of several outdoor recreational activities. This area sees lots of visitors in the spring and summer. There's fishing, swimming, hiking, kayaking, and more on offer here. The campground has space for 2 to 35 people with up to ten tents and 5 RVs. Your amenities include pit toilets, picnic tables, grills, and a fire ring. You'll need reservations to stay here.
The campground sits among old growth trees by a meadow. The McCloud River runs along the southern border of this site. Enjoy fishing for brook, rainbow, and red band trout in the stream. One fun activity for campers and day visitors is to follow the McCloud River Trail to the Cattle Camp Swimming Hole. This scenic, out-and-back path is almost five miles long and follows the course of the water as it cuts through a shallow canyon. Take a dip in the pool when you reach the rocky gorge, then return to camp. On your way, you may see area wildlife like bobcats, kingfishers, river otters, and osprey. Another pawtastic hike is the McCloud River Falls Trail. See all three waterfalls and enjoy views of Mount Shasta's majestic peak.Â
Share your outdoor adventures with your furry pal. This campground will let your dog come with you if they stay on a leash. Remember to scoop their waste and deposit it in one of the trash cans.Â
You and your crew will enjoy the peaceful surroundings of this forest facility. The Camp 4 Group Campground is next to a day-use area that doesn't allow camping. Stay within the boundaries of your site. Bring water or a treatment kit with you when you come here. You'll need to obtain a free California Campfire permit from one of the state's USFS offices if you plan to start a fire.
