Description
Campo Alto Campground is located in Los Padres National Forest in California. The campground sits at over 8,000 feet giving you some of the best sweeping views the area has to offer. You will have access to fifteen single campsites and two larger group sites at Camp Alto. The usage at the site is in the medium range, so you can expect to see other campers but it is never overly crowded with people. Peak season runs from May to October, meaning it will be the most crowded during these times.

The area is serene, quiet, and peaceful - just what most campers are seeking! The sites are surrounded by towering pine trees that provide an abundance of shade and privacy. You will have the ability to see Carrizo Plain, Cuyama Valley, Quatal Apache Canyons, San Joaquin Valley, Lockwood Valley, and the Sespe mountain ranges all from the campsite. With so many natural wonders around you, there are tons of places to see and explore during your camping trip. Some of the most popular activities in the area include hiking, walking, nature viewing, wildlife viewing, birding, mountain biking, relaxing, and stargazing at night into the deep, black sky with some of the brightest stars you will ever see.

Amenities and facilities at the campground are pit toilets, firewood, a parking area, RV sites, tent sites, picnic tables, and a self-pay station. Pets are allowed at the campground, but they must wear their leash at all times. You must also clean up after your dog every time they go to the bathroom. Discard the used poop bags properly so you keep the area clean, sanitary, and beautiful for all of the other campers.

Overall, Campo Alto Campground is located in one of the most scenic and breathtaking locations in California. From the amazing views to the plethora of outdoor activities to dog-friendly sites, you cannot go wrong with a visit to this campground!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
