Description

If you are looking for a pawfect, nature-filled destination for you and your four-legged camping buddy -- look no further! Canal Bridge Campground is tucked away among a lush, mixed-conifer forest in Fryeburg, Maine. The wooded campground sits on a sandy beach, right by the Saco River and provides the perfect place for tubing, canoeing, hiking, and enjoying the peace and quiet of this serene location with your friends and family. The tent-only campground offers primitive campsites and welcomes four-legged campers!

The secluded campground consists of 36 spacious sites starting at $30 per night. All of them come with their own picnic table, grill, and fire ring. The campground offers riverside and White Mountain views, so make sure to pack your camera to capture all the natural beauty this location has to offer. Since the campsites are close to the water, make sure to pack plenty of bug repellant, as well as sunscreen if you are planning on sunbathing by the river.

The Canal Bridge Campground is also a great spot for fishing. However, visitors are required to have a Maine fishing license with them. For those who prefer hiking over water activities, the ten-mile Mountain Division Trail runs by passive train tracks and offers a great way to spend some quality time outdoors with your canine companion. Please be sure to keep your furry buddy on a leash and pack plenty of dog waste bags with you.

The campground offers the perfect balance of camping in the wilderness while still providing patrons with basic comforts that help maintain hygiene. These include a large bathhouse that features free, hot showers and flushing toilets. The campground is located under two-and-a-half miles from the highly-rated Fryeburg Fair that takes place every year in October, as well as provides easy access to Santa's Village, Storyland, local farms, the White Mountain National Forest, and several nearby shopping areas.

Whether you are floating down the Saco River with your friends, grilling hot dogs with your buddies or exploring the wilderness trails with your pooch, you are guaranteed to have a furrific time at Canal Bridge Campground.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
