Canyon View Group Sites

Don't settle for a run-of-the-mill camping experience! The Canyon View Group Site in Cedar Grove, California, is anything but mediocre! Part of  Kings Canyon National Park, the campground is nestled among vanilla-scented ponderosa pines at the juncture of the Sierra Nevada foothills and beautiful San Joaquin Valley. There are four primitive sites for large groups and 12 for mid-sized groups. Nightly rates range from $40 to $60 depending on site type. The park also allows campers to bring along their fluffy compadres! Just make sure you clean up after them.

Each group site has picnic tables, campfire rings, and a bear-proof food storage locker, and there's also easy access to flushing toilets and drinking water. Everything else you could need can be found within 10 miles of your tent, including coin showers, laundry facilities, pay phones, firewood vendors, restaurants, and a general store.

This area is jam-packed with beautiful natural features to see and fun activities to do! For starters, you can rent a horse to ride alongside the park's majestic waterfalls, mighty rivers, and through thousand-year-old glaciated valleys. Don't feel like saddling up for your adventure? Hiking and trout fishing are also excellent ways to explore all the gorgeous terrain that Kings Canyon has to offer. If you decide to explore on foot, wear long pants and stick to the paths since poison oak is common here. Be sure to keep any food supplies (including pet food!)  in the bear-proof lockers -- the smell of a tasty treat doesn't just appeal to two-legged campers! 

Want to get out of Dodge for a bit?  There are tons of attractions outside of the park to occupy your crew as well, including Boyden Cave, Hume Lake, Grizzly Falls, Mist Falls, Zumwalt Meadow, Roaring River Falls, and Sequoia Groves! Check out nearby Cedar Grove Village to try some delicious eateries and do some shopping.
