Set a course for Cold River Campground, a rustic spot where folks stop over for a peaceful night or to embrace the merriment this vacation destination inspires.
Kids will make memories to share with future generations in a camp that lets them bring their pets along for the fun. Family dogs are asked to stay on a leash, and their adoring owners are required to pick up their waste. There are breed restrictions here -- for more information, contact the campground office. Vaccination records will be requested at check-in, and nature walks through the woods are on the menu for daily doggy exercise.
The park is set up for tents and RVs with spacious, pull-through sites and full hookups. Mowed grass strips separate motorhomes. Roads in and out of the camp are gravel and fairly easy for the big rigs to navigate. Most of the sites are nicely shaded by bushy, established trees. A daily rate of $43.75 applies for RV sites, which come with access to cable TV and the internet. Tent sites incur a daily fee of $30.
Cozy on-site cabins offer a pleasurable stay with a choice of one or two bedrooms plus microwave, fridge, and a coffee maker. A porch with chairs sets the tone for a relaxing time with the addition of a fire grill for barbecuing.
Updated showers, restrooms, and a laundry get the camper seal of approval, while a large swimming pool, games room with pool table, and kid’s playground are just the tip of the iceberg in keeping campers entertained. Enjoy a friendly game of horseshoes, get active on the basketball court, or participate in one of the many planned events and activities. These include dancing the night away to live bands and trick-or-treating at Halloween.
Less than a mile away is the Penobscot River, a favorite haunt for anglers that's renowned for its plentiful salmon. This is also the home of Eddington, a quaint, rural New England town where you can fuel up to discover Brewer and Bangor, two riverside cities within a few miles of each other.
The surrounding cities and hands-on approach to service make Cold River Campground a first-rate campground, with summer and holidays being their busiest times.
