Cottonwood Campground

Known as one of the best campgrounds in southern California, Cottonwood Campground is an ideal location for anyone who wants to camp out under the stars and enjoy the beauty of mother nature. It is located in Joshua Tree National Park, one of the most scenic protected areas in the entire country, and its location provides a stunning backdrop for camping as well as convenient access to outdoor activities. You can also enjoy the company of your dog while you camp there — Cottonwood Campground welcomes furry paws!

The campground houses 62 sites, and each of these sites can accommodate up to 6 people. All of the sites have the same nightly fee of $20. While you are camping at Cottonwood, you have access to the campground’s well-maintained amenities that provide everything you need for a great camping experience. These include picnic tables, campfire circles with grills, and drinking water. RV campers will have access to sewage hookups.

The area around the campground provides you with plenty of ways to fill your time with its many outdoor recreation sites. Hiking is very popular in Joshua Tree National Park, and there are several trails that connect to the campground. If you feel like venturing further, you can find many more trails within driving distance. While you hike, you are sure to see some amazing rock formations and Joshua trees. You might also catch a glimpse of some of the rare animal species that call this area home.

There are a few things to keep in mind throughout your camping trip. Note that there is a $30 park entrance fee for vehicles — this is in addition to the campground’s nightly fee. Each campsite can accommodate up to two vehicles, and there is no overflow parking available for more vehicles. Also remember that your dog must remain leashed at all times.
