The campground is surrounded by heaps of natural wonder. The site sits on Feather River, and is near Frenchman Lake as well, making it very popular for boating, swimming, and fishing. Day hiking and backpacking trips are favorite activities because there are many beautiful trails in the area. Canyons, alpine lakes, rivers, forest, crystal clear streams, and soaring mountain ranges make the backdrop for the campground.
Campsites are situated in the pine trees, so most sites are partially or mostly shaded. Some of the campsites overlook the bright blue lake while the others overlook bright green, grassy meadows studded with towering pine trees. All of the sites have tables, campfire rings, and grills for cookouts. You will also have access to flush toilets, fresh drinking water, a dump station, picnic areas, showers, and trash collection.
Your dog is more than welcome to come with you on your camping trip, but they should wear their leash at all times. Dogs do require additional fees, so make that preparation beforehand. You are expected to clean up after your dog goes to the bathroom. Discard your poop bags at the dump station or save them for trash collection times. Always make sure your dog has lots of fresh water to drink and a cool, shady, and comfortable place to sleep and relax.
Overall, Cottonwood Campground is one of the best places you can stay in the area. With exceptional amenities, spacious campsites, and the best views, you will not be disappointed with Cottonwood.
