Coyote Point Campground is located in Valley Springs, California within the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and its position along New Hogan Lake makes it the perfect spot for an outdoor getaway with a group. Coyote Point consists of one big site, and it can accommodate between 10 and 50 people, making it an ideal place for a family reunion or other large gathering. Pets are welcome too, as long as you don't bring more than two and they're kept on a leash.
Your campsite at Coyote Point has lots of shade provided by the trees surrounding it, and you can also beat the California heat in the lake. Your campsite comes equipped with a large picnic shelter and grill, more than a dozen tables, and six fire rings. There are no hookups at the campsite, but there are vault toilets and tap water, and at the nearby Oak Knoll Campground, you'll find a dump station and showers.
During your stay at Coyote Point, you'll have seemingly endless options for fun ways to spend your time. You can boat, swim, or fish in New Hogan Lake, or head to Stillman McGee County Park for rafting and swimming on the Mokelumne River. If you're planning to enjoy the beach and water on New Hogan Lake, protective shoes are recommended to shield your feet from the rocky shore. There are two 18-hole disc golf courses near the campsite, and if you head east from Coyote Point, you'll discover several hiking and mountain biking trails to trek.
During some months of the year, hunting is permitted around parts of the lake, and the wildlife includes quail, ducks, turkey, and doves. If your pet is used to sleeping outside the tent or trailer during your camping trip, be advised that pets must be in a tent or vehicle at night, and generators can only be operated from 10 AM to 8 PM.
You and your group of human and canine companions are sure to have a delightful time at Coyote Point Campground!
