Description

Dean Creek Resort might be better known as a motel, but it does have some RV and tent camping spots -- and it’s a pawfect place for those who want to camp in comfort. All the RV sites have full hookups, including water, electricity, sewage, and even cable TV! Prices start at $49 per night. There are also several tent-only sites available, but these are only open to visitors in the summer months. Fancy an upgrade? Your pup is welcome in the motel rooms and in the cabins, but there’s a $10 pet fee for pooches who want to move indoors. While you can book rooms online, you’ll need to call to make a reservation for the tent and RV sites.

Not only does Dean Creek have all the mod-cons you and your doggo could ask for, it’s also in a furrific location! Located in the small town of Redway, deep in redwood country, the sites are surrounded by mature trees, and many have views of the South Fork of the Eel River, which runs through the property. There’s even a redwood on-site, casting shade over the resort’s amphitheater, where you can catch local bands throughout the year. There are group cookout facilities for family getaways, too, as well as river access for swimming or just chilling out on the beach by the river.

You and your buddy certainly won’t be bored during your stay! Dean Creek is just a bone’s throw away from the Avenue of the Giants, a stretch of Highway 101 lined with sequoias and with access to many tree-lined trails. Most of those aren’t Fido-friendly, however -- be sure to look up a map before you go, or just enjoy the view from the car window. Hound-dog history buffs might also enjoy a visit to the Victorian village of Ferndale. Closer to home, the Eel River is something of a hotspot for salmon fishing, and two-legged family members might appreciate the pool and games room.

Wifi is available at Dean Creek, and all cellular networks should receive fair-to-middling coverage. Campfires are permitted, but only in designated pits. You’ll also find drinking water available on-site. Remember to bring waste bags for your furry friend, and have a pawesome trip!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
