Description

The Deer Group Camp, located just south of Big Bear Lake, offers a puptacular place to stay when you visit this part of the San Bernardino National Forest. Stay here with up to 40 people and enjoy the solitude of the forest. The facility will accommodate eight vehicles. You can stay in tents or bring a camping trailer here. There are no hook-ups or water available. The facility is pack-in, pack-out, and reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance of your stay. Regular fees for the group site are $132 per night. There's an additional $10 charge for holidays.

You can access the camp by a dirt Forest Service road that's a little difficult to navigate. From here, you'll have easy access to a variety of activities including boating, hiking, fishing, and biking. One pawtacular trail that's west of the site is the Seven Oaks Trail. This pathway offers a vigorous walk through the woods and some scenic views of San Gorgonio Peak. Enjoy the stunning beauty of the high mountain valley as you explore the area. You can also head to the lake to fish for trout, bass, crappie, and panfish. Stop by Big Bear Lake Village and do a little shopping while you're in the area.

Your dog is welcome in and around the campground if they're under restraint. Keep pets on a cord or leash when they're outside. Immediately clean up any of their droppings.

There are burn restrictions in effect here, but you can use propane stoves and lanterns if you have a valid campfire permit. Apply for your authorization online. Remember that this is bear country and take appropriate precautions. Store food, garbage, and other scented items in a sealed container. Keep the supplies in your trunk at night. By taking a few safety measures, you'll be able to enjoy the spectacular scenery and quiet serenity of this furrific campground.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
