Located in San Bernardino National Forest in California, Dogwood Campground is the perfect place for you to take your pooch and family if you're looking to escape the concrete jungle in exchange for dense forests. This campground primarily consists of campsites for tenting, however, there are some RV sites available.
Dogs are welcome to the campground, as long as they remain on leash 10 feet in length or shorter and under control at all times. Using a ground tie off on your site is permitted, giving your pup a chance to do some of their own roaming.
The campground has very reasonably priced sites, ranging anywhere from $34.50-$71.50, depending on the type of site. Site types include electric, non-electric and tent-only sites. While at the site, if you're looking to bring along more than one car with your family, there is an additional 7 dollar a day fee for the second vehicle.
Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and fire pit that comes with a grill, not to mention the sites are large, private and provide adequate shading. Fire restrictions may apply on the campground, depending on weather conditions, so be sure to note any changes when you check in.
While visiting Dogwood, you can find a variety of ways to keep yourself busy including swimming, fishing, and boating. Exploring the dense forests surrounding the campsites is always an option, where you can find wildlife and a variety of tree types, including cedar, fir, and oak. One thing to be aware of arriving for your adventure is that bears do frequently visit the area, so bringing appropriate lockable food storage containers and garbage disposal methods is recommended.
Hiking in the area to take in the scenic views is another option for you. On the campground, you can find two natural trails, the Dogwood Trail and the Enchanted Loop Trail. Each trail is just short of a mile in length, giving you the perfect opportunity to venture through the San Bernardina Forest with your pooch.
