In the area, you are completely surrounded by a dense pine forest that provides lots of privacy and quiet. Shaver Lake is popular for fishing and boating and is within the High Sierra Ranger District. You will also get to experience stunning mountain scenery. Sightseeing and photography are popular in this region. You will also get to see rolling foothills, alpine landscapes of the High Sierras, and dense forests that are all picture-perfect.

At the actual campground, you will find a few amenities like a picnic area, many trailheads, and vault toilets. Each site is equipt with a dirt parking spur, grill, fire ring, and picnic table. There are no showers at this location.
Dogs are welcome at the campground but should wear their leash at all times. You are expected to pick up after your pup and discard the poop bags properly to keep the grounds pretty, clean, and sanitary for other canines and campers. Always make sure your dog has access to fresh drinking water and has a cool and comfotable place to sleep, relax, and hang out.
