Description

For a quiet hideaway on peaceful waters, look no further than FlannersĀ Beach Campground in North Carolina. It is here, where the ocean meets the inland freshwater, that you and your pupperĀ can take it easy as you get close to the many life forms that call the area home.

You'll have your pick out of 41 different campsites here, and though there isn't much space between them, the surrounding trees still offer a decent amount of privacy. For those looking for a little more comfort, 22 of the lots also come with electrical hookups. Picnic tables and fire rings with grills are provided at each campsite, and drinking water is accessible as well. The restroom facilities and showers are well-maintained and stocked, though not all of the showers offer hot water.Ā

Fees start at $20 a night for a standard site and $5 more for one with an electric hookup. There are also double sites available if you're camping with friends, and fees for those are $50 per night.Ā

While you're here, you can head to the river, where a small but peaceful beach awaits you. The water is also perfect for paddling around in -- or casting a line to see what you can catch, as the brackish river is home to many interesting species. For quality time with your barky buddy, hit up the main trail that makes for an easy trek through the forest. If the little river beach doesn't do it for you, you're only a short drive away from the ocean coast, where big water and beautiful sand awaits!

Your pupperĀ is welcome throughout the park but must stay leashed as per Neuse River Recreation Area rules. Also, to keep pooches welcome, do your part by cleaning up any mess your furry pal leaves behind and disposing of it correctly. Note that a maximum of two woofers can stay on any given campsite.

To experience North Carolina's beauty, FlannersĀ Beach Campground is a great place to start!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
